Life Lessons Gleaned From Country Music Lyrics

Fact: No matter where you are in the States there will always be at least one country music radio station coming in crystal clear.

God is great
Beer is good
and people are crazy
People are crazy
by Billy Currington

This one's for everyone who makes a big deal out of nothing.

Sounds like life to me it ain’t no fantasy
It’s just a common case of everyday reality
Man I know it’s tough but you gotta suck it up
To hear you talk you’re caught up in some tragedy
It sounds like life to me
Sounds like life to me
Darryl Worley

I won't break my back for a million bucks I can't take to my grave
So why put off for tomorrow what I could get done today
My List
Toby Keith

You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too
Someone once helped me out,
Just the way I'm helping you
If you really want to pay me back,
Here's what you do
Don't let the chain of love end with you
The chain of love
Clay Walker

Ain't no rhyme or reason
No complicated meaning
Ain't no need to over-think it
Let go, laughing
Life don't go quite like you planned it
We try so hard to understand it
The irrefutable, indisputable fact is
It happens
It happens
Sugarland

This is the un-official music video.I think its brilliant in a non-pretentious kind of way.

Give the People What They Want

Great little study stating that the way people "consume" advertising is changing. It was performed by IBM Institute for Business Value study, and states that consumers have become more or less immune to conventional advertising tactics and that new creative ways are the future. This also means that budgets will change. What does this mean for aspiring creatives? Good things. If you are just now getting out of school or have graduated within the last 5 years, you are way ahead of the technological curve.
Yes keyword bidding sucks, but where will you be when a client comes looking for your service?

What makes a good model?

This is a broad question, and the purpose of this post is not to reiterate the modeling industry standards. Its purpose is to give insight as to what makes a model that works.

1. Hands, Hands, Hands
Nothing gives away the inexperienced model more than awkward hand positioning. It says "I have no idea what to do with my hands!".

2. Being able to stare at the sun and smile without squinting.

3. Don't lie. Know your measurements. Look like your comp card. Over-photoshopped pictures & fake stats don't help anyone.

4. Be Interesting. It shows in pictures without you having to say a word. "Dead in the eyes" look characterized by a blank stare and sometimes a slightly ajar mouth is not sexy, its downright depressing.

6. Know your angles, know what poses work for you.

7. Knowledge. Stay current on the trends in the industry, know your look and have realistic expectations for your career. Learn about marketing, if that's too much at least read a book on running a small business.

This is just my opinion.
